Lent/Unclehood/A New Home

So it's been a couple or few weeks since I've updated this so there have been quite a few things that I need to update on.

Another season of Easter and Lent are upon us. A couple years ago I started to give some things up for Lent and decided that this year it would be TV during the week. People have mixed views on this; only Catholics give things up, why do you? Is the question that I've gotten quite a bit, so for those that follow this blog let me clarify my position on this. My view is that if you are a Christian and believe in one God and he became flesh and walked this earth as Jesus Christ, Jesus went without for 40 days and nights. I don't believe that you have to be Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, or Catholic to give or not give something up. I was recently talking to someone who was Catholic and I asked her why she gave up meat on Friday's. Her response made me chuckle, she said well because on Friday's it reminds us to give something up like Jesus gave up for 40 days. The reason it made me laugh is because I don't think we should just be reminded of what Jesus gave up for us only on Friday's during lent, nor does what I give up for 40 days make me a better person than they are, but I think we need to be reminded and remember what Jesus gave up for us everyday, and that was HIS LIFE for our sins.

For those that don't know yet my sister and her husband did not waste any time and she is pregnant with their first child. She recently found out that she is going to have a little girl so her future uncle guessed that one right and I will tell her that I knew she was a girl before her parents even did (wink wink if my sister is reading this). I am heading to Iowa this weekend and am a little worried about how much I might spend on Iowa baby gear for her. Hopefully it will be put to good use and maybe re-gifted to me when I have kids.

I sent in my lease termination to my rental company at the end of last week. It has been great living in my apartment for the past year, but I honestly feel like I have out grown this apartment and need just a tad more room. It has been awesome to see how much I can simplify and what I've been able to fit in an 800 sq foot apartment coming from a house that was twice the size of my apartment. I am now in search of a new place and I guess that will be where I leave this entry and we'll pick it up when I find a new home so please pray for guidance and that God will provide a new home for me to live, and that the renters in my house will keep their jobs and be able to live in the house for the next 2 years.
